School Lunch Program

Student With Special Dietary Needs Policy

The best protection for our students with life-threatening food allergies is to pack lunch from home. Not all foods are allergen free and cross-contamination may occur. We highly recommend that students with life-threatening food allergies avoid purchasing snacks.

When and if necessary, substitute meals for students with life-threatening food allergies will be made available.  A Medical Statement Request for Special Meals and Milk Substitutions is required to be completed by your child’s physician annually.   Once the completed form is received we will work with our food services company on providing a safe substitute menu along with manufacturer ingredient labels for your review and approval.

Manufacturer food labels are available to view on the food service provider’s website at View Maschio Food Services under “Food Facts.”  You may contact our office for information on brands and product types used in our cafeteria, understanding that substitutions, while not likely, may occur.

If you have any questions, as always you may contact our office at (973) 482-8811.

Thank you for partnering with Robert Treat Academy in keeping our students healthy and safe.
