Type To Learn
What is Type to Learn 4?
Learning how to type has now become a necessity in today’s advancing world of technology. Developed on a research-based method of sequential cumulative touch typing instruction, Type to Learn 4 builds critical 21st Century skills for all keyboarding students in grades K-12. Type to Learn 4 has more than 100 lessons, 5 engaging, skill-targeted typing games with each lesson, and 7 diagnostic, formative, and summative keyboarding assessments.
What is RTA’s Policy on Type to Learn 4?
Due to common core technology objectives and future online testing with PARCC, using Type to Learn 4 is mandatory throughout all grades. RTA will enforce the following:
By the end of third grade all students should know all the letters of the alphabet, 0-9, plus power keys such as space, enter, backspace, delete, shift and caps and num lock.
By the end of 8th grade all students should know how to type using all the keys on the keyboard using the touch type method.
New Typing Targets
Grades K-2 = 6WPM and 60% Accuracy
Grades 3-6 = 15WPM and 85% Accuracy
Grades 7-8 = 20WPM and 90% Accuracy

Type to Learn is now on the cloud and can be easily accessed anywhere anytime at View Suntrust Digital

Your child should know the username and password. If it is forgotten, they may get it from their homeroom teacher.
Forms And Applications
Robert Treat Academy Charter School understands that in a world that demands more and more of our time, parents can’t always spend time at our office filling out forms and paperwork. That’s why we’re now providing easy and convenient access to enrollment and permission forms online. It’s now easier than ever to keep your childrens’ records up-to-date and ensure their safety at school.
Check back soon to find some of the most commonly used forms, including those for enrollment and field trip permission. Simply fill out the forms and mail or fax them in. Of course, you’re still always welcome to drop them off at our office.
